Yes. The price is the same anywhere in the West Midlands, with no mileage or call-out charge: Standard £199.99, Premium £249.99, and the EV battery check £149.99.
The car is inside the Birmingham Clean Air Zone. Do you pay the charge to get to it, and does that affect the fee?
Getting to the car is our problem, not yours: any zone charge on the way is ours and nothing is added to your fee. What matters is whether the car you are buying is compliant, and we confirm that from its own data and the official checker as part of the inspection.
Can you inspect a car at Motorpoint Coventry or Motorpoint Oldbury on the same day I view it?
Yes, if a slot is free. Book the inspection, reserve the car and tell the sales team an independent inspector is coming. Come for the end of the inspection and we go through the findings with you at the car, so you can decide on the spot.
The car is an ex-fleet car with a full company service history. Do you still need to see it on a ramp?
We do not use a ramp at all: the underbody checks are done from the ground with our own equipment, at the dealer or on a driveway. A full company history tells you the servicing was done, not what the miles have worn, so we still check brakes, tyres, suspension and the fault memory, and what is due next at that mileage.
Do I need to be there?
No. We can inspect the car directly with the seller or dealer and send you the video review, photos and report afterwards, then talk it through with you on the phone.
Will you tell me whether to buy the car?
We give you the findings, point out what matters and what it is likely to cost, and talk it through so you can make your own decision. We have no commission from the sale, so the advice is straight.
