Oil and coolant condition and levels, visible leaks, belts and hoses, engine mounts, timing-drive noise and engine performance under load where applicable.

Yes. Reserve the car, tell the sales team an independent inspector is booked, and we arrange the time with them. You get the video, photos and report the same day, so you only make the trip if the car is right.
Do you cover Corby and Rushden as well as Northampton, and is the price the same?
Yes to both. The price is the same anywhere in Northamptonshire, with no call-out or mileage charge: Standard £199.99, Premium £249.99, and the EV battery check £149.99.
The car is an ex-fleet car. What do you check?
The service history against the mileage, the big-ticket items due by that mileage (timing belts or chains, clutch, dual-mass flywheel, diesel particulate filter), brake and tyre wear, suspension bushes and the diagnostic history. A well-kept fleet car is a good buy; one that skipped its services is not.
Can you meet me at a private seller's house in Daventry or Towcester on a Saturday?
Yes. Saturday and Sunday appointments run from 9am to 6pm and book up first, so the calendar is worth checking as soon as you have agreed the viewing. If you want to be there yourself, pick a time that suits you and the seller and we fit around it.
Do I need to be there?
No. We can inspect the car directly with the seller or dealer and send you the video review, photos and report afterwards, then talk it through with you on the phone.
Will you tell me whether to buy the car?
We give you the findings, point out what matters and what it is likely to cost, and talk it through so you can make your own decision. We have no commission from the sale, so the advice is straight.
