Mobile Car Inspection Norfolk
Buying a used car in Norfolk? From Motorpoint in Norwich and the A140 dealers to Sandles and Anglia Car Auctions in King's Lynn and the Thurlow Nunn sites in Great Yarmouth, we come to the car and inspect it before you commit: full diagnostics, a road test, a history check and a video report the same day.
Covering all of Norfolk, King's Lynn to Great Yarmouth, at one price with no mileage charge
Pre-purchase car inspections in Norfolk
Norwich has the county's car supermarket, Motorpoint on Turnpike Close, plus the Cromer Road and Hall Road dealer clusters and the Jaguar Land Rover centre at Postwick, all covered on our Norwich page. King's Lynn has Sandles Car Supermarket, which has traded for more than forty years, Thurlow Nunn Vauxhall on Hardwick Road, and Holden's Renault and Dacia showroom, opened in 2025 in a former Volvo site. Group 1 closed its King's Lynn Land Rover dealership in May 2026. Great Yarmouth has Thurlow Nunn, whose family-owned group runs twelve sites across East Anglia, and Wymondham, Dereham, Fakenham and Diss have small independents.
The county's trade stock passes through East Anglian Motor Auctions at Wymondham, which welcomes private buyers, and Anglia Car Auctions at the Cattlemarket in King's Lynn, which runs modern and classic sales, so plenty of forecourt cars were in an auction lane shortly before they were advertised. We inspect the car before you pay and tell you what the advert leaves out, so you decide with the facts and negotiate from them.
Wherever the car is in Norfolk, the price is the same as everywhere else we cover, with no mileage or call-out charge, and that includes the north coast. Book online with the car's postcode and we arrange the time with the seller or dealer. You get the video, the photos and the written report the same day.
Postcodes NR1 to NR31, PE30 to PE38 and IP22 to IP26.

What your mechanical report covers
An in-depth mechanical inspection brings the physical checks, diagnostic results and driving behaviour together. Your report explains the condition we found, the concerns and their significance for your purchase.
Engine & cooling system
Oil and coolant condition and levels, visible leaks, belts and hoses, engine mounts, timing-drive noise and engine performance under load where applicable.
Gearbox & drivetrain
Gearbox and clutch operation where fitted, gear changes, mounts, driveshafts and CV joints, with findings on unusual noise, vibration and driving behaviour.
Brakes, steering & suspension
Accessible pads, discs, calipers and brake lines; parking brake, steering, suspension components, dampers, joints and bushes; wheel and tyre condition.
Diagnostics & electrical systems
Full-system scan for available fault codes and warnings, plus 12V battery and charging checks. EV and hybrid inspections include relevant powertrain, charging and battery-management checks where supported.
Road-test findings
How the car accelerates, changes gear, brakes, steers and handles, including unusual noises and vibration. Premium includes an extended road test. Road tests depend on safety and permission.
Evidence, priorities & buying advice
Written findings, photos and a clear video review explain the issues observed and what needs attention. A personal call helps you understand the concerns and decide what to ask before buying.
Checks are adapted to the vehicle and accessible components. The report records any checks that could not be completed. Both packages also include bodywork, interior and vehicle history checks. Keep the video, photos and report as evidence of the issues observed at the time.

EV battery healthQuestions from Norfolk buyers
Do you cover King's Lynn and Great Yarmouth or only Norwich?
The whole county, at the same price, with no mileage or call-out charge: Standard £199.99, Premium £249.99, and the EV battery check £149.99. King's Lynn, Great Yarmouth, the north coast and the villages in between are all covered.
Can you inspect a car bought at Anglia Car Auctions in King's Lynn before I collect it?
Yes, by arrangement with the auction once the car is yours. Pre-sale inspections are rarely possible because viewing time is short and the cars are sold as seen, but once it is paid for we can check it at Hardwick Narrows or at your home and tell you what it needs before a long drive.
Can you inspect a car in Cromer or North Walsham, or is the north coast outside your area?
The north coast is covered like the rest of the county, at the same price with no mileage charge. Book online with the car's postcode and we arrange the time with the seller.
Can you inspect a car at Sandles Car Supermarket in King's Lynn before I collect it?
Yes. Reserve the car, tell them an independent inspector is coming and we inspect on site, with a road test where they allow it. You get the video, photos and report the same day, before you pay the balance.
Do I need to be there?
No. We can inspect the car directly with the seller or dealer and send you the video review, photos and report afterwards, then talk it through with you on the phone.
Will you tell me whether to buy the car?
We give you the findings, point out what matters and what it is likely to cost, and talk it through so you can make your own decision. We have no commission from the sale, so the advice is straight.
